Cozumel, Isla Mujeres, Holbox & Isla Contoy
Four unique Caribbean experiences where the island life greets visitors at every turn.
Beaches, reefs, whale sharks, no hustle and no worries.
THE ISLANDS OVERVIEW
The Islands of Cozumel, Holbox (pronounced hol-bosh), Isla Mujeres, and Isla Contoy are exactly the kinds of places we love here at Island Life Mexico. Located off the northwestern edge of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, the four Islands are easily accessible from Cancun or Playa del Carmen.
A glistening tropical paradise off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel is an exciting tourist destination that holds a special place in our hearts. With two very different sides to the beautiful island, one can access all the modern amenities around its main town of San Miguel, and yet still find numerous places on the far side of the island to get away from it all!
Holbox is home to beautiful beaches, a laid back lifestyle, and whale sharks aplenty. This is one of the premier spots in the Caribbean to swim with the majestic creatures. And don’t forget to take a walk on the beach at night to see the bioluminescent waves!
Isla Mujeres is often visited by catamaran sailboat cruises from Cancun, but we suggest spending a day or two snorkeling and hammocking (is that a word?) on one of its beautiful beaches.
Isla Contoy, the smallest of the three, is only accessible on a limited basis. Be sure to check out our Isla Contoy Guide for all the details!
