Welcome To Cozumel

A gorgeous tropical island just off the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula (across from Play del Carmen), Cozumel has some of the most beautiful waters in the Riviera Maya and is a top beach and diving destination.

Like many tropical island destinations, Cozumel is an excellent place to relax and have a drink while looking out at the crystal blue Caribbean waters. From morning mimosas to evening mojitos, Cozumel has you covered no matter what your mood or your budget.

For all-day beachfront libations, check out our picks for the best beach bars in Cozumel!

Famous for opening early (10 am) and staying open until they feel like closing, this place has quintessential reggae beach bar status. Thatched roofs, excellent views, and hammocks for lounging away the day.

It is located in the southern area of the island, so you’ll need to drive yourself or get a taxi. It is approximately 20 minutes from the center town of San Miguel de Cozumel.

2. Mezcalito’s Last Frontier

If you want to drink like a local this is the place to come. The staff here are beyond friendly and make you feel as though you have been coming here for years. The perfect spot for a bucket of beers or margarita fueled lunch. Fresh ceviches, seafood, nachos and more.

Located on the “wild” side of the island so we suggest renting a car or calling a taxi to make your way to this remote paradise.

3. Sky Reef

Feeling like a bit of a snorkel to break up your day drinking? Sky Reef is your place.

The open-air structure here has the perfect balance of shade to sun options and has a well-maintained dock to get in and out of the glittering waters for your snorkel adventure. Outdoor showers are also available when you need to rinse off all that glorious saltwater. Oh, and of course, whatever cocktail you’re craving can be easily and quickly produced by the ready and waiting staff.

A lovely location on the west side of the island allows for nice views of the mainland and the ever-passing cruise ships. It is only about 15 minutes from town center and the ferry terminal.

4. La Monina

Staff Pick– One of the absolute best places for a sundowner on the west side of the island (next door to Hemingways). A long, seaside walk or a short taxi ride from town center, La Monina’s is just a bit north of town and worth a stop. Fabulous happy hour offerings on food and drinks, plenty of loungers on the sand and a gorgeous patio for sunset views. The friendly staff is always ready to bring you your next round. A great place for a casual date, meeting up with friends or simply enjoying the view solo.

5. No Name Bar

This seaside bar is laid back and casual to the max. Easily walkable from town, this is the place to go whenever the mood strikes. A great place to meet people and make new friends. Take a dip in the pool (YES there’s a swim-up bar) or jump into the sea for a quick snorkel. Cold drinks, yummy snacks and the cool blue sea are at your beck and call.
